Ever woken up with the urge to just be held? Not necessarily by a lover, but to just be held tight by someone, anyone, and reassured that all is going to be just fine? Have you ever had that urge?

Most people, if not all, wake up with the urge to answer nature's call, it's how most of us start the day, or am I wrong? Well, what about those times when you awake in the middle of the night drenched in sweat, heart pounding, throat so dry you feel as if you haven't drank water in months? What urge do you wake up with then?

I'm sure all of us have had that all too familiar dream of falling. The minute you start feeling that falling sensation in your dream, you automatically try and catch yourself and whenever you do that, you immediately wake up.

It's amazing how our reflexes work even in our subconscious. What's even more amazing, is how our fears become more apparent in our dreams. I always thought of dreaming as a magical thing, kind of like reading a fairy tale. It's the one world where one is guaranteed to find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and unicorns grazing around it. I always imagined it to be a happy place, never as a place of fear. Nobody ever mentions the fear, period. Few people ever admit when they are afraid, especially men.

Why are we afraid of being afraid? It seems like admitting that you are afraid is seen as a sign of weakness. Well, I beg to differ. I believe that admitting that you are afraid is like catching yourself in that falling dream. When you admit, you accept. You make your fear become an object that you can see, and I don't know about you, but I believe that's the first step towards dealing with it. I'm not trying to be some kind of Dr Phil or Oprah, but just think about it, what is better between; admitting your fear, and living in fear of someone finding out about your fear?

Fear is an emotion that all people feel, that's what it is... Trying to live without fear is like trying to live without feeling. What kind of life would that be?
