Aspiring To Inspire
What would you say inspires you? Actually, let me rather put it this way, what motivates you? Every day, every morning, every waking second of your life, what motivates you to do what you do? Whether it is something very small and insignificant like just getting up in the morning and brushing your teeth, or something big and life changing like leaving your job to pursue your music career, what motivates you?
Some would say they are motivated by their parents or someone close to them, while some just find it better to motivate themselves. I consider myself to be one of those who choose to motivate themselves. Why should I wait for someone else to come into my life and encourage me? It is my life after all. There are certain cases though, when you are put in a sink or swim situation and you motivate yourself to swim, because the way I see it, I think very few people ever plan on sinking. Its only when things get really tough that someone might just give in, and let themselves sink, but that wouldn't have been their original intention.
Well just take a second right now and think: What's your motivation for this year?
It's probably something very close to your heart, isn't it...?
I remember when I started this blog, I was plain and simply motivated by boredom and idleness, nothing more, nothing less. Now that I find myself not that bored anymore, I find it hard to keep writing posts because I'm not motivated anymore. Lately though, I've been thinking about what I have gotten out of writing these blogs. I barely get any "Like's" when I post it's link on Facebook, because honestly speaking, not a lot of people like reading, but yet, here I am, writing another post. Why do I still do it?
Over the past month or so, that I have been writing these posts, I feel like I've reached calmness of mind and soul. I know this sounds really "yoga-ish" but this blog has served as an outlet for me to express my views, my opinions, my thoughts and just myself in general. So indirectly, I motivated myself, not boredom and idleness.
In the end, whatever motivates you to do what you do benefits you, so in essence that makes you the sole motivator of everything that happens in your life, that's what it is...
For you who have taken the time to read this, thank you for motivating yourself to read my thoughts. Hopefully this will be of some benefit to you. :)
